Tzu-Tung Chen is an emerging Taiwanese violinist currently based in Amsterdam. She is pursuing her studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA) under the guidance of Eliot Lawson and Maria Milstein.

 

At just twenty one years old, Tzu-Tung has already built a vibrant international performance career. Her journey has taken her from the major stages of Taiwan—including Weiwuying and the National Concert Hall—to concert halls across Australia, Malaysia, and Japan. Now in Europe, she’s a frequent performer in the Netherlands, appearing in venues ranging from the Concertgebouw to historic churches.

She is a passionate collaborator, whether leading as a Concertmaster, playing in chamber groups (from Duos to Quintets), or standing in front of an orchestra as a soloist. Recently, she was featured as a soloist in Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre with the Symfonisch Harmonieorkest Amsterdam. She also loves the energy of music festivals, having participated in the Kaija Saariaho Festival and the Taiwan-Australia Music Festival.

 

For Tzu-Tung, music is about crossing boundaries—blending the emotional depth of her Eastern roots with the rigorous traditions of Western classical music to create something that truly resonates with modern audiences.
